The development of the groupware is going on. We´re especially looking forward to new webinars, that will start in October. We´ll provide more information concerning the free online webinars in our next e-mail and also on facebook.com/EGroupware and twitter.com/egroupware.

The status site shows all running services in „green“. Should one service temporarily be out of order, it will be tagged in “red”. In case of any service disruption, we´ll display an emergency number for EGroupware customers here.
Beta testers wanted!

Collaborative editing of documents is an up-to-date issue for companies and a useful practice for professional networking.  EGroupware is looking for interested users, that would like to test a new tool for collaborative editing. During the last month, the EGroupware developers have been working intensely on the new tool, now it´s time to start the user testing process. Become a part of EGroupwares beta testing team and contribute directly to the collaboration software.

It thereby stands for focusing on the main competences in the software sector, as well as for expert knowlegde and consistency.

Since more than 10 years, the team around Ralf and Birgit Becker provides professional support and development for EGroupware, based in Kaiserslautern.

That means, your contact persons will stay the same. They´ll be happy to assist you by sharing their versatile know-how concerning the software.

The Datacenter Insider Portal of Vogel IT-Medien GmbH has published an article about Open Source and collaborations on the EGroupware project. The article describes very well the new features of EGroupware version 16.1 and how users can contribute to the development:

The new version 16.1 completes the reprogramming of EGroupware. The user interface is better adapted to different device formats. From now on, it is not only the developers who decide on future goals, but also the users who are involved.

The ix magazine for professional information technology has published an article about the new EGroupware version. The article describes very well the possibilities of working with the mobile template and the reworked user interface. The possibilities of encryption are also described.

Version 16.1 of the open source collaboration software EGroupware is available for download. The software introduces a new interface for mobile devices and end-to-end encryption with PGP. In the cloud version, it can be tested for 30 days.

EGroupware 16.1 contains many new features and improvements, just to name a few:

  • Calendar: complete rewrite of user interface for improved functionality, drag&drop, context menu
  • Mobile: new mobile phone and tablet user interface, offering compact display for mobile phones
  • Desktop: new brighter desktop template, lots of work on usability and look & feel
  • Mail/InfoLog: PGP end-to-end encryption using Mailvelope plugin (InfoLog requires EPL subscription)
  • eSync: update to Z-Push 2.3 fixing several Android problems and allow to sync with Outlook 2013/6
